Whitney has served as Executive Director of the Literacy Council of Tyler since October 2020 and was Associate Executive Director beginning in January 2020. Whitney's first experience with LCOT was in college when she volunteered with the ESL program. After completing her Bachelor’s Degree at U.T. Tyler, she was employed as LCOT's Volunteer Coordinator prior to moving to Fort Worth.
Whitney has 16 years of experience in the nonprofit sector in various roles and has completed Graduate level coursework in Nonprofit Management through The University of Texas at Arlington. Her previous work experience includes Tyler Junior College, The Discovery Science Place, and Meals on Wheels North Central Texas.
She serves on the board of the Association of Fundraising Professionals East Texas, the Women's Fund of Smith County, is a graduate of Leadership Tyler Class 29, a member of Promise Academy’s Advisory Council, a Caldwell Elementary PTA member, and a member of Christ Episcopal Church. Whitney and her husband Tony have two children ages 11 and 5, and two dogs.
